The God Culture: After the Apostles, The True Church

Timothy Jay Schwab of The God has finally given his fullest treatment of the True Church to date in the form of 3 videos. I will be taking these videos one at a time and summing them up in one go. Let me be clear that I do not want to get bogged down in details. I am looking for the big picture. That means only the most important details will be noted here. Practically all of what Tim has to say in these videos has been said in his book Rest: The Case for Sabbath and in his other videos.

In this first video Tim sets up his thesis.  The only True Churches according to the Bible are the seven church of Asia.  That means Rome, Galatia, Carthage, Corinth, Alexandria, and everywhere else except Antioch are out. None of those places are the True Church. Thomas made it all the way to India but that is also out because it's not listed in the Book of Revelation.
4:48 In the first chapters of the book of Revelation Yahushua is speaking and he identifies seven ecclesias that are his. That's what he says. Those are his words. No one can dispute that. Some are better than others, of course, in terms of following his commandments but nevertheless he calls them his ecclesias to which angels are in charge of each. They are the continuation of the next generation of ecclesias at the end of John's life and after the other apostles were mostly gone.

Now, you might think, "Rome does not have a True Church? Paul wrote his most important epistle to them." Yeah, well you see Priscilla and Aquila were kicked out of the Roman Church for keeping the feasts and Sabbath.  It had nothing to do with them being Jews as the Bible says. In fact the true Roman Church was exiled from Rome for the most part.

9:48 They passed those practices on to the next generation but Rome didn't get it nor did the origin of what we call the Catholic Church. Why? Well, they are not his ecclesia period. Uh, in fact if you look at Rome yes there's a, there's an ecclesia in Rome, Priscilla and Aquila, but then you find them they actually were exiled from there. Um, so they're back in Asia Minor operating amongst the ecclesias that are mentioned in Revelation. So, uh, you can't, you can't use that one reference out of context and say oh no the church was in Rome. No, whoa, whoa, the Church was exiled from Rome largely. It doesn't mean there weren't pockets still of course there, I'm certain there were but uh as a whole and with the power of what the Catholic Church came out of get out of here that is outrageous.
What is outrageous is for this overweight, bespectacled, Hey Joe, white saviour to say the Church was exiled from Rome in circa 50 AD!! Paul wrote a lengthy epistle to the Romans. He longed to see them and he even appealed his case to Nero just so he could go to Rome and visit the Church to whom he wrote.

What does it even mean the Church was exiled from Rome? Tim does not say. The fact is Priscilla and Aquila were JEWS and Claudius kicked all the Jews out of Rome!
Acts18:2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
The Church was not exiled from Rome. The JEWS were exiled from Rome. And not only that but at some point later they returned to Rome and Paul mentions them at the end of his famous epistle.
Romans 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus
For all his boasting about 30 plus years in the ministry Timothy Jay Schwab sure does not know his Bible.

After The Apostles: Part 2. 2-3 Centuries Later. What was the True Ekklesia?

In part 2 Tim dives into the Quartodeciman controversy and cites the testimony of Polycrates via Eusebius. In the early Church the correct date to celebrate Easter or the resurrection was a very contentious debate. Polycrates was the Bishop of Ephesus and he says he followed the teachings handed down by the Apostle John. Tim says that is also what we must do.
6:15 So, commanded to sacrifice the lamb should be observed as the feast of the Savior's Passover. Notice the Savior's Passover. They got that. How could, I mean, how could that even be in question, right? Messiah was taken on the Passover, he was crucified the next day, which is the first day of unleavened bread the same Sabbath really the same day on the, uh, the calendar of the feast which begins at sunset which is a rare thing for feasts and and for the Bible as the biblical day begins at sun rise we prove. But it was not the custom of the Churches in the rest of the world! Oops! You realize he just rebuked the entire Catholic Church in origin. They weren't called that yet perhaps but as against scripture. This is so clear but the bishops of Asia, modern Turkey, led by Polycrates of Ephesus, remember one of the seven ecclesias, decided to hold to the old custom handed down to them. By whom? The apostles. Duh! Which are we supposed to practice? Think about it. Are we not to follow the example of the Apostles and Messiah? Are we not to be preaching the gospel they preached or it's another strange gospel is it not?
How bright and shining is this man's ignorance. I am going blind every time I listen to him speak. According to Timothy Jay Schwab only the testimony from Polycrates is valid.  Forget about the fact that other churches said they received a different tradition from the other Apostles. Here is "the rest of the story" from Eusebius.
A question of no small importance arose at that time. For the parishes of all Asia, as from an older tradition, held that the fourteenth day of the moon, on which day the Jews were commanded to sacrifice the lamb, should be observed as the feast of the Saviour's passover. It was therefore necessary to end their fast on that day, whatever day of the week it should happen to be. But it was not the custom of the churches in the rest of the world to end it at this time, as they observed the practice which, from apostolic tradition, has prevailed to the present time, of terminating the fast on no other day than on that of the resurrection of our Saviour.

Those in Palestine whom we have recently mentioned, Narcissus and Theophilus, and with them Cassius, bishop of the church of Tyre, and Clarus of the church of Ptolemais, and those who met with them, having stated many things respecting the tradition concerning the passover which had come to them in succession from the apostles, at the close of their writing add these words:

Endeavor to send copies of our letter to every church, that we may not furnish occasion to those who easily deceive their souls. We show you indeed that also in Alexandria they keep it on the same day that we do. For letters are carried from us to them and from them to us, so that in the same manner and at the same time we keep the sacred day.
I am not going to discuss the Easter controversy here but it is important to note that both traditions of holding the feast on the Lord's Day and keeping it along with the Jews extend back to the Apostles. Both traditions are Apostolic. Therefore keeping the Passover along with the Jews is not an exclusive sign of the True Church. Tim does not mention this at all because he has never even read Eusebius but is quote mining from the Seventh Day Adventists. He does not get into the controversy at all or tell us what the issues were and why it matters except to assume that Asia Minor is correct and the rest of the Church world is wrong. This is proof positive Timothy Jay Schwab is completely ignorant of the history of the early Church and is only seeking to confirm his Christless, graceless, nomian theology.

In the third video Tim mentions the council of Laodicea which forbade the people from celebrating the Sabbath in the Jewish manner.
14:52 Uh, can you find other sources to say different things? Of course you can. You can always find propaganda. It's easy to do that. Then you could go and write a blog about all the propaganda because you're too stupid to read it and understand the difference. Well, you know what? It's time for us to see past such illiteracy.

On the council of Laodicea, what an appropriate place for such decrees to come out of. Uh, basically a Satanic occult gathering that's what it really is, of catholic leadership, never biblical. They had no authority and they were not his ecclesia we've well proven. No Catholic counsel ever had any bible authority period. Not to change books, not to add to books, not to change doctrines, not to assess what doctrines are this or that because the track was already established and they changed it. They changed the word. From the apostles time until the Church the council of Laodicea which was about the year 364 the holy observation of the Jews. Now, that's really, it's the biblical one, uh, forget the Jews that's again a fraud word uh of the Hebrews. Yeah, okay? Sabbath continued. Okay so they continue to observe the Saturday Sabbath is what it's saying. As may be proved out of many authors and again there are many, I mean many, many and we could go through many such, uh, accounts.
I like how Tim starts off by taking a dig at me and this blog.  He's the one who is quote mining and has never actually read the Church Fathers or any of the canons or decrees of the councils. I find it interesting that Tim says the Church has no authority to come together to "assess what doctrines are this or that." This man's catchphrase is "prove all things" and he is literally saying the Church has no authority to prove all things! Apparently the Church is supposed to accept every kind of teaching including heresy.

It's also funny that Tim does not actually cite any canon from Laodicea but instead cites John Ley.

This is a citation from Tim's book Rest: The Case For Sabbath and its source is a bit mangled. Tim lists two books from which this quote can be found.  The first one is Book XX of Antiquities of the Christian Church which I happen to own and am currently reading through. John Ley is nowhere cited in its pages. I can guarantee Tim has not read this book but let's be generous and tell him exactly why the early Church kept the Sabbath.

If it be inquired, why the ancient church continued the observation of the Jewish sabbath, when they took it to be only a temporary institution given to the Jews only, as circumcision and other typical rites of the law ; (which is expressly said by many of the ancient writers, particularly by Justin Martyr, Irenaus, Tertullian, Eusebius " to name no more ;) it is answered by learned men', that it was to comply with the Jewish converts, as they did in the use of many other indifferent things, so long as no doctrinal necessity was laid upon them." For the Jews being generally the first converts to the Christian faith, they still retained a mighty reverence for the Mosaic institutions, and especially for the sabbath, as that which had been appointed by God himself, as the memorial of his rest from the work of creation, settled by their great master, Moses, and celebrated by their ancestors for so many ages, as the solemn day of their public worship, and were therefore very loth it should be wholly antiquated and laid aside. For this reason, it seemed good to the prudence of those times, (as in other of the Jewish rites, so in this,) to indulge the humour of that people, and to keep the sabbath as a day for religious offices, viz. public prayers, reading of the Scriptures, preaching, celebration of the sacraments, and such like duties." But when any one pretended to carry the observation of it further, either by introducing a doctrinal necessity, or pressing the observation of it precisely after the Jewish manner, they resolutely opposed it, as introducing Judaism into the Christian religion. For this reason, the Ebionites were condemned for joining the observation of the sabbath" according to the law of the Jews, with the observation of the Lord's day after the manner of Christians. Against such the council of Laodicea pronounces anathema, that is, such as taught the necessity of keeping the sabbath a perfect rest with the Jews. And in this sense we are to understand what Gregory the Great says, That antichrist will renew the observation of the sabbath. He must needs mean the observation of it after the Jewish manner: since in the Christian way it was observed as well by the Latin church as the Greek; only with this difference, that the Latins kept it a fast, and the Greeks a festival.
Now, I know Tim will kick against the pricks and say that is NOT the testimony of the True Church and you know that is odd because Laodicea is one of the seven Churches in Asia and Tim calls the Council of Laodicea a Satanic gathering. How did Laodicea go from being a True Church to being a Satanic gathering? Tim does not say but undoubtedly it's because they said something he doesn't like.

The Council of Laodicea did not say to neglect the Sabbath altogether.
Canon 16: The Gospels are to be read on the Sabbath [i.e. Saturday], with the other Scriptures.
The canon forbidding keeping the sabbath like a Jew is as follows:
Canon 29: Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.
But because Tim has never actually read the canons of Laodicea he does not know about any of that. He spouts off like he knows something about what the early Church believed, taught, and decreed but the reality is he is an ignorant putz.

It's just so tiresome having to listen to this nonsense. Tim has no idea what he is talking about.  He limits the True Church to the seven Churches listed in Revelation as if that is the end all be all of Churches. According to Tim Rome, Carthage, Alexandria, Jerusalem, none of those cities have True Churches because they are not mentioned explicitly by Jesus in the New Testament. That kind of reasoning is insane. Jesus said go into all the world and that is exactly what the Apostles did. Thomas made it all the way to India!

Despite his railing against the Church and insisting that the True Church kept the Sabbaths and Feasts and the Mosaic law generally Tim offers no proof for such a Church existing. He does not even attempt to prove that there is an unbroken chain of Churches keeping the law from the Apostles until now. He is in effect calling Jesus Christ a liar.

Oddly enough in part 2 he hints that the priesthood is still viable!
11:21 And moreover John, who was both a witness and a teacher, who reclined upon the bosom of the Lord, uh, and being a priest wore this sacradotal plate. Wait, what? I, I, you know, I get hung up on that because John the Apostle he equates basically to him being in the priesthood. Whether he literally wore such, uh, you know a priestly plate or not, uh, I don't know. Uh, guess is that he's talking, uh, you know basically, um, in analogy here, uh, you know but you don't know that. Notice this concept through though of the priesthood continues in the new testament. Hmm. In the Apostles. How about that?
What is this man smoking?  If John is a priest and Polycrates a Bishop that means the Church in Ephesus was ORGANIZED. It means the Church in Ephesus was not 2 or 3 people meeting in someone's living room. It means Tim is WRONG when he says the church is not an organization.

So how then do we govern ourselves? Who do we follow? What church do we attend? Is there a denomination that gets this right?

You will never find denominations in scripture. His ekklesia cannot be broken into such. In our age, there are a Remnant of believers only. It is not 1.5 billion but a few in terms of the population of the world. They are one and defined as keeping His commandments. Those come from the Bible as should all of our doctrine.

Any organization one enters is a creation of men. You will notice just about all of them attempt to boil down their theology into a Statement of Faith or Mission Statement of sort. These are meaningless as any Statement of Faith that does not include every letter of the Word is no such. The origin of such practice is freemasonry as the Bible never says to create a Statement of Faith. You will find every False Prophet comes from the church within and has a great resume and great sounding Mission Statement. That is Pharisaism not Bible. If one can whittle their faith down to a sentence or paragraph, they are extremely shallow.

pg. 416
But what does the Church community matter anyway when Tim says personal relationship is paramount? From part 1:
37:57 There is no justification for a Catholic Church nor really even Protestant for that matter. Even the word church we discussed. There is relationship with Yahusha and Yahuah through his word and his word says to keep the feasts and sabbaths and commandments.
The sources for this video all come from his book Rest: The Case For Sabbath. I have previously noted that, based on that book, Tim certainly has no idea what the Church Fathers or early Church taught. He takes all the early documents, quote mines them from secondhand sources, and basically dumps all over them calling them frauds and Satanic because they don't say keep the Sabbath and Feasts. Tim wants everyone to keep the law.  He wants everyone in the tent fornicating with Hagar.

The God Culture: The Zen Garcia Interview

If there is anyone who shares the same spirit as Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture it has to to be Zen Garcia. I admit that I don't know anything about this guy but if this interview is any measurement to judge with then I have been spared. Zen thinks Polaris is where the throne of God is, thinks the earth is hollow, and has a lot of other beliefs that would fit snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug on Coast-to-Coast-AM. Recently he did an interview with Timothy Jay Schwab.

The Mystery of Solomon's Gold - TThe God Culture Channel and Zen Garcia

Now, the thing about this video is that apparently it was streaming but then it got copyrighted during the stream and it was also broadcast on a radio station called Revolution Radio at the same time. The result is that we do not see Tim's fat bespectacled face or any of his slides. But I won't say much about that here. We want to get to the meat.

This interview is leagues better than the Pounders interview. It's longer, it's more in-depth, and the host doesn't dip out to give Tim the floor. Zen interacts with Tim and sounds very excited. That's a good thing. I want to hear Timothy Jay Schwab get interviewed by people who care. I don't think Pounders cared much.

So, the real meat of the interview comes in at the middle of the second half. Tim has run through his entire worldview and Zen Garcia asks the following:

1:18:25:  Zen: A question with regard to, uh, the the islands there because, um, located in Cambodia where you have the the very ancient culture and the extravagant remnants of, you know? So, these, um, what's the name of that city, um?

Tim: I know what you're talking about but I can't remember the name.

Zen: Yeah, I can't, it escapes me. My children went and visited there but anyways, I was wondering are there structures like that or are there you know ancient relics also found in the Philippines, uh, that most people don't know about. And also wanted to ask, um, as far as the ancient traditions, the mythologies of the native peoples there, if you know about any of that and, uh, is their truth preserved

Like Pounders Zen is asking a great question. He is asking is there archeology and mythology to prove Tim's claim.  The city they are thinking of is Angkor Wat and the culture is the Khmer Empire. I have actually been there.

Tim's answer is so bad but I have to reprint it here in full.

1:19:27:  The major challenge in this journey was that, um, the actual record of the Filipinos themselves who, by the way, when the Spanish came here Padre Torrino in fact says that in the areas that he visited in the Philippines 100% were literate. They could read and they could write, and they were reading something, they were writing something, and they were doing it in their language, uh, in, uh, the, the, uh actual written language is called Baybayin and it's actually very similar to Hebrew in the letters and even some of the the shapes of the letters are kind of fascinating. But that's not something we can really prove we're not linguists we can't go that far. But what we can say is they were reading something. They were writing something. They had a history. That's what people read and write, right? And yet it's all gone the Spanish wiped it all out 100% of it is gone. The oldest document we have in the Philippines, uh, is from 1640 and it's it's an epic poem. Um, and, and then prior to that there is a copper plate, uh, from about 800 to 1000 A.D which is a legal contract which shows you how sophisticated these people were. They not only wrote a legal contract they did it on copper.  How about that?

However now, but, when Magellan came he said, he asked the Filipinos, you know, who is your god and and what is your worship? Now, this is what Filipinos answered him. They said we have no other worship, this is in Pigafetta's journal, um, recorded by the Spanish, this isn't some fiction, this is historic fact. We have no other worship but to raise our hands to heaven and our face to the sky and we cry out to our Abba.

Zen: Wow! That's awesome.

Tim:  Abba? Wow amazing! And then you know so right, right from uh, the words of Messiah in the Garden of Gethsemane uses it twice as well.

Um, you have this name and then some will say oh well you know but but the Muslims came there yeah they did in the gold rush that's true. However, the muslims have 99 names of Allah and not a single one includes the word Abba. That concept is not Muslim. There is something else to it and it's because of their connection with king Solomon the Queen of Sheba came. She, she did what? She gave an offering to the temple just like Adam gave his offering the day after his exile in the same offering at that and the same with the three kings who came two years after Messiah was born that's why it took them two years they had to come all the way from the Philippines. And because they had to go around Africa the Red Sea port was broken up at that time and so and they brought the same gifts gold frankincense and myrrh and laid them at the feet of Messiah.

Look at that wall of text! Timothy Jay Schwab cannot answer a straightforward question with a straightforward answer. Zen asks for archeological and mythological proof and Tim gives NONE! He starts talking about Baybyain and admits he is not sure about whether or not it is Hebrew in origin because, get this, HE IS NOT A LINGUIST!!  Can he undercut his case for residual ancient Hebrew being in the Philippines any more? He just admitted that he does not know what he is talking about because he is not a linguist!

Next he mentions that the Filipinos told Magellan they worshipped Abba. Now, if Tim knew anything he would know that the Nestorians made it all the way to China and likely to the Philippines.  I have written about this.

According to Melendres Filipinos accepted the Gospel very readily and not by force. This was because they recognized the God of the Spaniards due to remnants of heretic Nestorian Christians.

Nestorian Mongols believed that the 'Heavenly Father' existed beyond the sky and looked down from the heavens. Nestorian missionaries, on the other hand, carried the name of God Abba or Heavenly Father wherever they proclaimed their doctrines and faith. And as the people of Masaua called their God Abba, it was unlikely that Abba was just an idol or a pagan god. We can therefore draw the conclusion that Rajah Culambo, his brother Rajah Siagu, and Rajah Humabon and their respective kingdoms were remnants of the heretic Nestorian Christians. This was why the Culambo brothers paid full attention and with reverence to the Cross during the First Mass in Masaua. And in Cebu, Rajah Human did not resist Magellan's preaching, and even his people showed their hunger for the Word as the listed to Magellan teach the basic doctrines of Christianity. Then, without hesitation, the Cebuano king immediately submitted to Magellan's baptism.

https://philippinefails.blogspot.com/2021/03/book-review-my-countrys-godly-heritage.html

Tim offers no mythological stories about the Jews and the Queen of Sheba and Solomon or even a myth about the 3 wiseman. Nor does Tim discuss archeology which is what Zen originally asked about. Never forget that Tim has already admitted there is no archeology in the Philippines to prove his claims.

Many seek this architecture in demand to prove this narrative and they are stuck in a false paradigm. There is none to be expected nor has any other nation on earth produced such nor will they.

Ancient Ophir is never described as having temples at all whether alone ones of gold, it is never recored to have great infrastructure in any sense just a mega-abundance of resources. The humble lifestyle of the Filipino even fits the oath of a Rechabite as Farrisol said.
pg. 128-129

https://philippinefails.blogspot.com/2021/01/the-god-culture-search-for-king.html

Of course Tim could never say that live on air because that does not garner likes or sell books. I imagine Zen would have found it odd if Tim had admitted he has no archeological proof for his claims.

One final thing I want to note is that both Zen and Tim lament censorship by YouTube. They go on about how truth is being covered up. Well, I posted a rational, sane comment on this video and it was deleted.

The God Culture is not a group you want to be promoting. Their books and videos are so full of historical and theological errors it is rather shocking. They have never been peer reviewed which means they have never allowed real scholars who know the things they write about take a peek at their research and critique it which is really a standard practice. I have gone in depth with, as of now, 61 articles eviscerating Timothy Jay Schwab's theories and in turn he has only lashed out in anger rather than correct himself. The man simply cannot stand criticism of any kind. See here: https://thegodculturephilippines.blogspot.com

Tell me who is censoring who? I cannot stand these kind of hypocrites who ramble on about censorship, claim they are for freedom of speech, and then attempt to censor those who disagree with them. Disgusting. And these people are Americans!

Like I said there is much more in this video. Maybe I will save it for a rainy day. I just want to get the meat across. In two recent interviews where Timothy Jay Schwab has been asked for archeological evidence to prove his claims about the Philippines he has been unable to provide any. That is quite damning to his case for the Philippines no one can disprove.

The God Culture: How to Keep the Feast of Tabernacles Without Actually Keeping the Feast of Tabernacles

Having previously instructed his audience to buy their children plastic horns to blow on the Feast of Trumpets because it's fun Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture now instructs them on how to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

The Feast of Tabernacles: Sukkot, A Shadow Of Things To Come. Feasts of YHWH Series

9:12: Now, this part is fun. Your kids will love this, but let's not pretend we don't love it too. We do. We really do. "And ye shall take you on the first day," that's the 15th of Ethanim the seventh month, uh, that's the name of it in scripture. Uh, if you notice, uh, there's actually only, I think it's four months of the entire year that actually are named in the Bible otherwise it's called the fourth month, the fifth month, and so on and so forth just the number. Uh, and that is the two Feast months Abib and Ethanim and the two months that follow them, the yeah, and that's it. Those are the only ones that actually have an actual Hebrew name in scripture. Uh, very fascinating, uh, so, let's continue. So, we'll show you the the modern calendar reconciliation don't worry we're going to get there but let's read first. "The bowels of goodly trees branches of palm trees and the bowels of thick trees and Willows of the brook and ye shall rejoice before Yahuah your Elohim seven days." What do we do with them? Well you'll see in scripture we build a booth or tent or Tabernacle thus the name of the feast. That's what it's all about.

24:03 Now, again, we continue to dwell in our tents we built. That's the point. You built it with your family, yeah, and you decorate it and have fun with it. This is incredible. This is far better than a Christmas tree. Your family gets to build a dwelling together, um, that you get to live in for seven days and nights. That is so awesome! The kids will love it. Remember we no longer sacrifice animals as Yahusha was our sacrifice for all feasts and Sabbath forever. We're going to show you the scripture. However, we do still offer incense or spice offerings and drink offerings or wine and both are easy, they're not difficult at all.

51:19 So, that's what we do. We take branches and we build the temporary shelter to live in for seven days. Yes you can run electric out there no problem with that, uh, but, uh, we sleep, we eat in our tents are booths all week for seven days and nights.

So, there you go. You have fun with your family building a tent in the backyard out of tree branches, you decorate it, and you live in it for seven days. Of course the scriptures never say to have fun decorating a tent with your children.

One commenter asked Tim if he could show exactly how he celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles but he declined citing safety reasons.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umpqIyZmRhs&lc=UgxWXMDJpvRJ8ic76y94AaABAg

Leela: Hi Tim, would love to see you take videos on how you and your family celebrate the feast and share here in YouTube. It would be an awesome reference. Thank you for always sharing these contents.

The God Culture: We would love to but due to safety considerations, we cannot at least for now. Perhaps in time. Yah Bless.

How exactly would Tim's safety be compromised if he showed a picture of the tabernacle he built and decorated with his family? The martyr complex on this guy is huge!

Along with building a tent you also have to offer up incense and drink offerings. How that is to be done Tim does not say. He says absolutely nothing about building an altar or needing a priest to properly make an offering. He also admits that he does not even have the correct calendar dates for when the feasts happen.

1:09:59 But no one has these dates a hundred percent that we can verify including us, uh, so don't beat people up over oh well you do it this day oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, don't do that. The point, keep the feast

No! The point is not "keep the feast." The feast is to be kept in a very certain manner which is laid out in the Bible. To not keep it on the right day or to not keep it properly by refraining from sacrificing is to commit sacrilege. In fact Tim denigrates the whole Feast of Tabernacles by calling it fun and saying one does not need to follow it to the letter and sacrifice animals.  The thing is ALL OF THE LAW has been fulfilled by Jesus Christ.

Tim has a stupid analogy about TV orders and Christ's work on the cross. Tim says if your TV order has been fulfilled does that means no more TV orders will be filled?

Rest: The Case for Sabbath, pgs 29-30

Are we to interpret this as since TVs were delivered, there is to be no more TV? Do the TVs then pass away since they were delivered? In fact, no one else on earth can ever have a TV delivered again because this person got theirs? We know better but this is how they are applying this scripture backwards by redefining this word in error.

This analogy is stupid. But going along with it, Jesus Christ delivered a TV to every person who has ever lived or will ever live. There are no more TVs to be delivered. In the same fashion Jesus Christ fulfilled the law for all mankind as the Second Adam. That is Christianity 101.

But perhaps even worse is Tim's explanation of what the Feast of Tabernacles foreshadows. I think you will be surprised.  I know I was.

The Feast of Tabernacles in the NEW TESTAMENT. Feasts of YHWH Series

49:02 Let's go to 1st Corinthians 6:19. Yes, Paul knew. "What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you which ye have of Elohim and ye are not your own." See, our bodies are tabernacles, the temple of the Holy Ghost. This is a concept of the Feast of Tabernacles our future event when we shed our temporary bodies just like we shed our, you know, our, uh, temporary tabernacles and we receive new glorified bodies on the day of judgment. A period of about three weeks by the way not just one day in scripture even though it's called the day as it appears to mirror the three weeks of Ethaninm, the day of trumpets when the trump shall sound and the dead shall be raised, the day of atonement which is judgment, and tabernacles when we receive our new glorified bodies and live eternally from there. All of these are foreshadowing of events that have not occurred yet therefore they cannot have passed away before they even occurred.

According to Timothy Jay Schwab the Feast of Trumpets, the day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles all foreshadow the final three weeks when the dead are raised, judged, and the righteous are given new bodies or tabernacles. None of those feasts has anything to do with the work of Jesus Christ.

How is Tim so daft that he does not realize Jesus Christ tabernacling in the flesh fulfills the Feast of Tabernacles?

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The word translated as "dwelt among us" means to tabernacle.

Galatians is very clear that the law is a schoolmaster which leads us to Christ. Dr. Gene Scott says it better than I can:

As we close the fourth chapter of Galatians, Paul compares those who go back to Sinai and pull the Law off that hill, and come to some new Jerusalem as the interpretive center, and from that new Jerusalem begin to lay the Law on you as an added necessity of being a Christian, Paul compares that to Abraham going into the tent and fornicating with Hagar. He says Hagar is Sinai, and Sinai is "new Jerusalems" which are now, and they produce children of bondage.

It's really the same old, same old from Tim. He wants to have everybody in the tent fornicating with Hagar! Just in case he asks, the Day of Atonement was fulfilled on the Cross when Jesus atoned for our sins but the trumpet is yet to blow announcing His second coming. That does not mean, however, that we are to celebrate the Feast of Trumpets because as I noted:

Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Tim's interpretation that the Feast of Tabernacles foreshadows the resurrection and the giving of our new bodies and is not a foreshadowing of the incarnation is 100% Christless. I have noted this before in my review of his Answers in Jubilees series.

To say, as Jubilees does, that the feasts were all kept by the Patriarchs and do not have their origin in the Exodus is to denude them of their Christological significance. This is just one of the many reasons no Christian could or ever did accept Jubilees as scripture. It is not surprising that Tim is ignorant of the Christological significance of the feasts and the law. The man's theology is Christless and graceless. There is no room in his scheme for Christ except to be an example of how to keep the law. Tim's Christ is not the Redeemer who delivers us from the bondage of sin and the Mosaic law. According to Tim the law is what redeems us.

Now, as I deal with the Philippines on this blog I want add this little gem from the first video.

1:00:05 And very likely the Ark if ever found would probably be found in an area like the Philippines where lost tribes migrated.

There you have it.  That is the crazy Philippine subject matter I look for when dealing with Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture.

And that is also how you keep the Feast of Tabernacles without actually keeping the Feast of Tabernacles. Have fun building, decorating, and living for seven days in a tent with your entire family.

The God Culture: Start your own Church

Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture never stops delivering wonderful material to work with. Just when you think he has said something too outrageous he tops himself again. The fall feasts are coming up so what better time to produce a series of videos about those feasts?

The Day Of Trumpets: Yom Teruah, A Shadow Of Things To Come. Feasts of YHWH Series

This video is, obviously, about the Feast of Trumpets and how to celebrate it. Tim repeats his same old arguments for continuing to keep the law while not sacrificing and thus not actually keeping the law. Here's a cute little gem:

58:45 So, Yahuah said use silver or metal trumpets. Now, that's what he said. It's okay and it's okay for you two thousand years or more later, uh, even still. Actually we're about almost four thousand years later now. So, uh, let them have their fun, uh, especially the children. Uh, do so with discipline of course. Uh, do things decently in order but, uh, you know not during scripture reading, prayer, worship, etc. But you know what Yahuah enjoys it. Get them the plastic trumpets and let them have at it for a, one day a year and only one you don't have to do it anymore. Then take that trumpet away if you want. You don't have to tolerate it but for one day let's teach our children to enjoy this day and all of these feasts because this will entrench this.
Isn't that cute? Buy your children a plastic trumpet and let them blow it to celebrate the Feast of Trumpets. He even doubles down on this in the comments.

Carlo Gamilla: Do we have to use a metal trumpet or toy trumpet will be ok ? Thank you guys YAH bless to all

The God Culture: Toy is fine. The point is to make noise in celebration commemorating the future day when the Trump sounds at Yahusha's return. Have fun with it as well with the kids. Yah Bless.
Have fun with the kids on the Feast of Trumpets by making a lot of noise. I do not have the vocabulary to convey how stupid, sacrilegious, and antinomian this is. And yet his audience is eating up this vomit.

If that is not adding to the scripture and giving your own interpretation then I don't know what is. Absolutely incredible that he could seriously offer this ridiculous advice for something so serious. Leave it to Timothy Jay Schwab to turn a solemn festival and convocation which is actually ten days of preparation and repentance for the Day of Atonement into a joke!

It is the question of celebration that perplexed one commenter. Specifically how does one celebrate the Feast of Trumpets if one is all alone? Timothy Jay Schwab's answer is stunning. Just start your own Church!

Rose Silvio: can one celebrate dfeasts alone if u have no one to cel with

The God Culture: Sure but in time you should consider starting an ekklesia of your own and including others at least. Yah Bless.

The God Culture: Understand. Many have that same circumstance. In this case, we encourage you to start your own ekklesia beginning with 2 or more as Yahusha said He will be there in your midst.Yah Bless.

"You should consider starting an ekklesia of your own!" Incredible! Starting your own Church is exactly what cults do. There is already a Church and it was founded 2,000 years ago by Jesus Christ.

This absolutely insane and blasphemous advice sheds light on what Tim is likely doing up in San Fernando. Has he founded his own Church with his wife and a few friends? To understand what this means one must understand his definition of the Church. First of all he believes Church is the wrong word as it comes from the word for circus, it does not it actually comes from the Greek word kuriakos, and that the Church is diffuse and disorganized consisting of only a handful of people meeting in a garage or living room.

Rest: The Case for Sabbath, pg. 416

One thing Tim really hates is the organized Church. Despite the Bible saying the Church has an organizational hierarchy with Bishops, Deacons, and Pastors Tim says the true Church is not an organization but is disorganized and diffused throughout the world.

45:36 We have no problem rebuking especially scholars who have screwed up the Bible for so long. That is almost every denomination out there. It includes the cults calling themselves, "We're the only true church." No you're not! There is no such. His Ekklesia is not an organization and that money doesn't go in your pocket. It is believers everywhere and there is only one group, there's only one classification. It is not based on race. It doesn't matter what color you are. It doesn't matter if you are Hebrew or Greek, Jew or Gentile. Doesn't matter. It's certainly not about religion because the only established relationship the creator of the universe wants to know you. Imagine that. Is that not enough?

The Final World Power in the 7 Ekklesias of Revelation. The Key. Answers In 2nd Esdras Part 7

So, there you have it. Timothy Jay Schwab says start your own Church, excuse me, ekklesia. But it is the same thing. It is a rejection of the true Church which is the Body of Christ which Jesus Christ founded and said the gates of hell would never overcome. Tim's doctrine of the Church is that it is the Synagogue of Satan and was completely taken over by the time of Constantine. It is unbiblical, faithless, and Christless nonsense.

The God Culture: The Pounders Live Interview

On August 26th Timothy Jay Schwab of The God Culture gave a live interview on the Jon Pounders show. For nearly 40 minutes Tim was given free reign to speak his piece. The topic was the location of the rivers of Eden but Tim gave a very truncated argument for the Philippines being Ophir, Tarshish, Cattigara, Antillia, Haviliah, and the location of the Garden of Eden. Of course even according to Tim the Philippines proper is not the location of the Garden of Eden but we will come back to that.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVujnxGlbvQ

As with my last review of a speech Tim gave we are looking for anything new. Here are two new things!

6:40 We went through the Messianic movement even um which is a natural step for many of us, uh, and then eventually we came out of the Messianic movement.

9:20 Do you speak do you speak the language there yet?

Uh, no, no, because the predominant language is English.

10:00 It's an odd language and it's hard for me to pick up to be honest so I only pick up a few words here and there. Uh, my wife is actually uh from the northern part uh of the Philippines and it's it's called Illocos and she speaks Illocano another dialect. There's over a thousand dialects so I give up.

First of all we learn that Tim did in fact go through the Messianic movement which is something I noted a while back. Second of all we learn that not only does he not speak a Filipino dialect but he gave up even trying to do so!  And he wants to tell us all about how Hebrew and Tagalog words are similar? Timothy Jay Schwab does not understand Filipino or Hebrew! The sheer hubris of this man is unmatched.

This video is chock full of the same old, same old which is not surprising. For about 40 minutes Tim is given free reign with absolutely no check from Pounders. At one point it appears that the host even left the conversation only to reappear at the 50 minute mark!

Look at the top right corner and you can see the host, Jon Pounders has left the building.  What happened? As the host he should be interrupting his guest to interject questions. This does not occur. This man is no Joe Rogan who actually is a good host who will ask questions of his guest or give a comment of some kind. He does ask questions when he reappears though.

52:26 Have you found any like, uh, archaeological evidence or anything that would suggest or would add to this, um, idea of the Garden of Eden being the Philippines? Have you seen any any finds or anything that just kind of suggests that it's possible?

That is actually a great question but it belies the fact he was even listening because Tim shows a slide that clearly states the Garden of Eden is INSIDE THE EARTH!!!

To ask that question Jon had to have missed this slide which means he was not watching this presentation!

Tim's answer to this question is actually quite stunning.
Um, more, more of it being the land of gold which is everywhere. There's gold deposits all over, uh, not on every island of the 7000 but all over the archipelago and a massive vein, uh, running through throughout.

There's a massive vein of gold running through all 7,000 islands? That is impossible!!! This is not an answer to the question but I admit the question was based in ignorance because Tim places the Garden of Eden beneath the floor of the Sulu Sea and that is not something he can prove positively with archaeological evidence unless he digs below the sea floor.

Speaking of archaeology Tim has this to say:
50:38. Um, there is a ton of history here. The problem though is no one's really doing any archaeology here. The universities don't do much and when they do they'll they'll accept grants and they'll have a budget but there's so much corruption here unfortunately that, you know, money's handed down and handed down and by the time it gets to the project itself they they have, you know, the money to get a, a spoon and a fork and and do the archaeology.
How does he know what universities are and are not doing in regards to archeology? More importantly Tim calls the need for archaeological evidence for his claims an occult paradigm!

25:33 But if Noah and his sons landed on Mt. Everest can we find additional support that they actually settled there? Hm? We can find support. Let's go for it. Which frankly this far back is rather miraculous when you think about it given the circumstances. These are extremely ancient and to think they left archaeology to find may not be so simple and to hold one to that standard as a must is really an occult paradigm that assumes that we must find great architecture in order to prove recorded history especially in an era not known for great architecture largely.

https://philippinefails.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-god-culture-noah-landed-on-mt.html

In fact for the Philippines Tim says there is NO archaeological evidence to support his claims!

The humble lifestyle of the Filipino even fits the oath of a Rechabite as Farrisol said.

https://philippinefails.blogspot.com/2021/01/the-god-culture-search-for-king.html

But he can't say something so bold in this interview and risk turning away new subscribers and book buyers. It's too lucrative to risk telling the truth!

There is a lot of outrageous stuff in this...well it's not even really an interview since Tim is given the floor. But this one takes the cake and it is also new. At least this is the first time I have heard Tim make this claim with his voice and not in the comment section of his videos.

48:38 The ancient mapping process required the North Pole to be in the center, in the navel, of the earth. Antarctica is a shelf that surrounds it and it is a flat round disc. That's the way they map it. Whether anybody believes in flat earth or not you can't dispute that.

Not only is the earth flat but Antarctica is a shelf that surrounds it! You can read more about Tim's flat earth beliefs here

There is a lot that can be said about this video but Tim's words are more important than my commentary. It's the same old junk but it's compressed into 40 minutes. Imagine 430 videos compressed into 40 minutes. Tim gives his all and rushes through it like a marathon runner and I can appreciate that. He is dedicated to his false worldview and he knows all the beats and how to get it across in the shortest amount of time. There is only one more thing from this video I want to comment on and it is this:

19:45 I've been telling people all this time that if they don't enter a relationship with Yahusha that, you know, they're going to go to hell.

Is Tim really telling people they will be going to hell if they don't have a relationship with Yahusha? Why? Timothy Jay Schwab teaches that when you die you fall asleep in one of three chambers inside the earth.  Then on judgement day everyone wakes up. The righteous inherit eternal life and the wicked are burned up like straw to exist no more!

22:29 The wicked are consumed period. And completely and final, the end that's why it's called eternal fire. Not because it burns and burns and burns forever but because when it burns it burns eternally. that's what it's about. So, don't misread passages that we are consumed by eternal fire as meaning we sit in a furnace when we die that's just not true that's not fact there's no bible verse that ever says that, ever. It's just not there. That assumes Yahusha's eternal fire is impotent, not effective, uh, because it it can only burn us but it it doesn't consume us. It's supposed to consume us that's what the Bible says it does so does it or doesn't it? Well, that ain't scripture. That's, that's the point.

https://philippinefails.blogspot.com/2022/02/the-god-culture-philippines-is.html

Who cares if you go to hell when all it means is you wake up from a long nap only to be annihilated! To be annihilated is to know nothing!  In Tim's scheme going to hell only means you will ultimately cease to exist! There is nothing for the wicked to fear because there is only an eternal nothingness which they won't even experience! This man has no idea what he is talking about and his system is fundamentally illogical.

To sum up this so-called interview is terrible. The host leaves the conversation and apparently did not even pay attention to what Tim was saying. He does not act like a good host and ask probing questions but gives Tim the floor for 40 minutes. It's pathetic really.

The God Culture: Christ Is Not In Us
